Non-zero clearance versus zero clearance: Adjustable bed bases vary. You can use some with existing platform beds, while others are standalone pieces incompatible with existing bed frames. Zero clearance adjustable bed are compatible with the platform panels of your bed. They are a better option if you like your current bed and want to keep it the same. Zero-clearance bases do not have moving pieces underneath; as such, you can use this room for storage.
