There is one brand of adjustable bed that we suggest for side sleepers, and it is the Symphony Sleep. The adjustable beds by Symphony allow the whole bed to remain flat while tilting the bed at an angle. This feature lets you lie on a flat bed while keeping your head higher than your feet. Most adjustable beds bend to raise the head or feet. Side sleepers can’t lie on a bent bed because it is bad for the spine. Hence, most adjustable beds are made for back sleepers.

Side positioning is the best way to get deep sleep while on an adjustable bed. However, the problem with sleeping on your side on an adjustable bed is the head and feet are raised. It may not be the best typical option, but it is excellent for those with hip pain, sleep apnea, and back pain. Side sleepers should use the head and feet position to align their spine. The main way to sleep on the side is with an adjustable bed with elevation. There are advantages to sleeping on the side with elevation.
Elevation Position for GERD: Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, is a common clinical condition. It causes poor sleep quality. Some studies, though, have hypothesized increasing the bed’s elevation is a useful treatment. It prevents acid reflux when lying down this is because of the elevated head or feet positioning. The posture has been proven to offer reflux relief due to the positioning of the lower esophageal sphincter. When the sphincter is above the level of the stomach contents, gravity returns the contents, back to the stomach.
