Oversized King Duvet Cover
What is an Oversized King Duvet Cover?
An oversized king duvet cover encases the comforter and provides coverage to the bed. It is the outermost dressing of a well-made bed. These covers shield the comforter from messes and are much easier to wash. The fabric can enhance the comfort of your bed as well. Oversized king duvet covers can be used on many sizes of mattress and come in a variety of color options. We offer the Kingship Comfort brand because they are comfortable. Plus, they come in neutral color palates that accommodate most bedroom color schemes.
310 Thread Count Oversized King Duvet
The Kingship Comfort Oversized King Duvet Cover has a 310-thread count. Specifically, for a duvet cover, 310 is a solid choice for thread count. Many times, people think that higher thread counts mean better quality and that’s just not the case. We found that between 200-300 can be the best choice for an oversized king duvet cover as other factors play into quality. The fibers used and the weave have more influence on quality than thread count alone. For example, sometimes a sheet may say it is 800-1000 thread count but it feels heavy and/or stiff. Then you find it doesn’t end up holding up over time. It could be that the count was established by twisting or doubling up on fibers. When this is done rather than adding more threads in through weaving, the fabric is not as soft or durable. It is a trick that is used to convince buyers that a product is higher quality than it really is. When properly constructed, a 200-300 thread count can be the best weave for this particular product. Good quality and a nice feel are what you get with the 310 Thread Count Oversized King Duvet Cover by Kingship. Additionally, the Kingship Comfort also has a nice zipper to open the cover and insert the comforter.
Reasons for Oversized King Duvet
Choosing an oversized king duvet cover is done for several reasons. It protects your comforter from requiring repeated washing. Dust and slight spills get on the cover instead of the comforter. It is much easier to toss an oversized king duvet cover in the wash than a large and bulky comforter. So, this can be one tremendous advantage. On top of that, there are multiple mattress sizes larger than a regular king. We carry larger mattress sizes including the Wyoming King, Alaskan King and Texas King. A home washing machine may be too small to accommodate the largest sized comforters. To reduce the hassle of washing them, an oversized king duvet cover can be used and more easily fit into the home laundry machines. Another reason you’d choose this size is if you have a traditional king. Many duvets are too short for a traditional king mattress. They hang over the side of the bed by only about 6 inches when this one allows for a 12-inch drape. This is preferable because it allows the comforter and duvet to fully cover the sides of the mattress which gives the bed a more put together appearance. Perhaps the highlight of using a duvet is that it will allow you the longest use of your comforter. Less washing means less wear on costly comforters.
Oversized King Duvet Cover Cost
Pricing on an oversized king duvet cover is based on which size is needed. The general rule is that as the size gets larger, so does the price tag. The price differences are due to the cost of manufacturing. More material translates into a higher production cost and that results in a higher cost for the end consumer. Of the standard oversized king duvet cover sizes, the Alaskan King is the highest priced. It measures 132” x 120” with the next highest being the Texas King. Dimensions for the Texas King are 104” x 110” which is smaller. After that, the Wyoming King duvet measures 108” x 96”, making it cost even less. These are not the only sizes available! You can also request custom sizing! If you would like pricing on custom sizes, please contact us directly.
