What is a Softside Waterbed?

A soft side water bed is built to mimic a traditional mattress and does not need a water bed frame around the mattress. Rather, the mattress is filled with water at the bottom and then added a combination of foam and/or latex comfort layers at the top. This mattress has the properties of traditional mattresses while at the same time giving you the feeling that you are floating on open water. Many people prefer water beds because of their numerous advantages. One such benefit is that the mattress can cool or warm when you sleep. Another advantage is that the bed can rock one to sleep. Sleeping on a water tube allows a person to relax as it rocks them, making sleeping easier.

Different Softside Waterbed Fluid Suspensions

Customers can choose from a wide variety of soft water bed fluid support options. The seven options highlighted below will explain the difference between each option and tell you what you need to know before buying a soft-side water bed.

L.S. 1000 Dual: This option comes with two different controls for each side of the bed. One is for heat, which allows you to adjust the temperature on each side. The other control allows you to adjust the water level on each side of the bed. Therefore, one side can be cooler and have less water than the other. The L.S. 1000 dual is a waveless (around 90%) water bed fluid support chamber.

L.S. 1000: This option is the same as the L.S. dual; the only difference is that it does not allow each side to have its own heater and water chamber. The L.S. 1000 is around 90% waveless water bed fluid support chamber.

L.S. 700: This potion is around 70% waveless fluid support option. The bed has a side heater that adjusts the temperature of the whole bed according to one’s preference.

L.S. 200: This option is around 40% wave less. It also has less fiber, allowing more movement than L.S. 1000 fluid support. This is why it’s only about 40% waveless.

Free Flow: This support option consists of a free-flow water bed with zero fibers in the fluid support chambers. The fibers are what reduce the wave in the water bed. This is an excellent option for customers who prefer a soft side water bed with a wave.

Waveless Tube: The waveless tubes have fiber inside the tubes that make them around 90% waveless. One advantage of these tubes is that they can be filled independently, making it easier to move the water bed.

Free Flow Tube: The free flow tubes have no fibers, which means there will be waves. One advantage of the free-flow tube chamber option is that it makes moving the bed from room to room easier.
