Initially, elevation was built into Glideaway beds as a default feature but in 2020, elevation became an optional kit. So if you do not want the elevation feature, the bed can be delivered without this option.

Glideaway makes the elevation kit for both the Glideaway motion 500 and Glideaway motion 600. These two adjustable beds are similar in many aspects. The difference is the Glideaway motion 600 has pillow tilt while the Glideaway motion 500 does not.

You can adjust the elevation on a Glideaway adjustable bed using the buttons on the remote. The ability to manually adjust elevation allows for more comfort. You can fine-tune the elevation according to preference. The elevation feature is also beneficial for those who suffer from acid reflux or GERD. It is because sleeping in an upright position sets the esophagus over the stomach. That allows for much-needed relief.

 

Installing the Elevation Kit on the Glideaway Adjustable Bed

It is possible to install a new elevation kit on the Glideaway adjustable bed for both the motion 500 and 600. On their product pages, there are instructions illustrating how to install the elevation kit. Installing the new elevation kit on the Glideaway adjustable bed rather than the motion 600 or the motion 500 both kits are installed the same. On the product page on each of the bases, there are instructions that show how to install fully the elevation kit to the motion 600 and the motion 500. Some assembly is needed but it is quite easy to do. The parts needed for assembly include connector bars, inserting bolts and clips, screws, and a pinch guard cover.
